Craftsmanship of the Bowl with Unusual Double Rim

This bowl with unusual double rim displays a large indent of natural bark, adding additional texture and structural uniqueness.

It wasn’t my intention to create this bowl shape, but it soon became apparent when turning on my lathe that the piece of olive wood had other ideas.

Versatile Design of This Artisan Bowl

This piece of olive wood was considerably broader at the bottom than at the top. This led to the idea of forming a second ‘tier.’  The natural bark feature also extends nicely from the bottom section towards the top for a cohesive design.
